Blaster
Location: Tumbler Ridge, BC
Peace River Coal Inc. is a subsidiary of the Anglo American plc group. We are currently looking for a Blaster to work at the TREND Mine Site - Tumbler Ridge. This position will report directly to the Drill/Blast Supervisor. The qualified Blaster will be responsible for conducting blasting activities in the pit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership on the blast pattern
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety rules and procedures
- Be able to load able detonate explosives in a safe, timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to all Peace River Coal blasting standards and procedures
Qualifications Requires:
- Valid BC Open Pit Blasting ticket or eligible to write
- Minimum 5 years blasting experience
- Able to work independently
- Good knowledge of surface blasting requirements
- Knowledge of BC mines Act
- Must be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
Candidates must be prepared to work a 6 x 6 schedule, 12 hour shift within a collective bargaining unit. This position is paid hourly.
The Company operates a non-contractual incentive bonus scheme, the payment and level of which are discretionary.
