Long Term Maintenance Planner
Location: Tumbler Ridge, BC
Peace River Coal Inc. is a subsidiary of the Anglo American plc group. We are currently looking for a Long Term Maintenance Planner to work at the TREND Mine Site - Tumbler Ridge. This position will report directly to the Planning and Engineering Superintendent position.
Responsibilities:
- The Long Term Maintenance Planner is the senior site planner and is responsible for the supervision and management of the site maintenance planning team consisting of five (5) staff.
- for the overall continuous development of the site maintenance strategies to ensure maximum production from equipment.
- Process Management provides leadership to the maintenance planning function, ensuring work is being completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
- Develop and manage the mine maintenance and reliability program by determining the specific maintenance work required to maximize availability.
- Establish good working relationships with the other departments.
- Liaise with various suppliers to discuss maintenance, spare parts, and new products.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance, reliability and operations schedules and performance reports within timelines established.
Qualifications Requires:
- Degree or diploma in a technical field, or possess a valid Inter-Provincial trade qualifications certificate in a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years practical experience in planning and scheduling both short and long term maintenance initiatives.
- Previous supervisory experience complimented with a proven work record in preventative, predictive, and reliability maintenance programs in the mining environment.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
- Understanding of short and long term maintenance planning objectives.
- Experience in the use of a Computer Maintenance Management System and in particular Ellipse is considered highly desirable
- Maintenance experience with heavy mobile equipment is highly desirable, with a particular preference towards Komatsu and Caterpillar equipment.
- Budgetary experience is also considered desirable
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience will be offered to the successful candidate. The Company operates a non-contractual incentive bonus scheme, the payment and level of which are discretionary.
